Michel Gondry directed his first feature film Human Nature in 2001, which was selected at Cannes. In 2005, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind won him the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, shared with Charlie Kaufman and Pierre Bismuth. His next films The Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind were selected at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals. He followed up with an episode of Tokyo, presented at Cannes in 2008, then with The Thorn in the Heart, presented in the Cannes Official Selection in 2009. In 2010 he adapted The Green Hornet and in 2011 he shot The We And The I in the Bronx. Gondry then adapted a famous novel by Boris Vian with a unique universe, Mood Indigo (L’Écume des jours), and in 2015 he returned to the screen with Microbe and Gasoil. The Book of Solutions is his long-anticipated new feature.
