In competition, there are 10 mini-series and 21 individual episodes of drama series from the entire region that premiered from January 2021 to June 2023.
The professional jury consists of over 100 eminent film and television directors from the entire region. Fellow directors, from different generations, choose the winner in the selection for the best director. Episodes of the series, as well as the voting system, are made possible through the online LIFFE platform, which has adequate technical capacities to support such a complex program.
The nominations will be announced over the next week. The directors of the nominated series will be invited as guests of the festival and included in the discussion that deals with the directors’ contribution promotion of regional television series, as well as the position of a director in the current hyperproduction of feature TV series.
Awards are given in two categories:
– Award for the Best Director of a Mini-Series (series with up to 8 episodes)
– Award for the Best Directing of a single episode of a drama series (series of one or more seasons, with 8 or more episodes per season)
The winners will be announced on September 16 at a special LIFFE Festival dinner.
